Terms of Service

Welcome to Ucode. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Ucode mobile applications (Android and iOS), the website at ucode.uk, and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use Ucode. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Accounts & Authentication

• You may create an account using your email address, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In. You may also browse as a guest with limited functionality.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must not create multiple accounts for the purpose of abusing promotions, referral programs, or circumventing restrictions.
• You must provide accurate and complete information and keep it up to date.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Service Description

Ucode provides temporary virtual phone numbers for the purpose of receiving SMS verification codes. The Service allows you to:

• Browse available virtual numbers from various countries and services
• Rent a virtual number for a limited time to receive SMS verification codes
• View received verification codes within the app
• Manage your credit balance and transaction history

Virtual numbers are temporary, shared resources. We do not guarantee that a specific number will be available, that a verification code will be delivered by the third-party service you are verifying with, or that a number will work with every service. Delivery depends on the third-party platform sending the SMS.

4. Credits & Payments

• Credits are the in-app currency used to rent virtual numbers. Credit prices and number rental costs are displayed in the app and may change without prior notice.
• Credits are purchased through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe (web payments), depending on your platform.
• Credits are non-transferable between accounts and have no cash value.
• Purchased credits do not expire as long as your account remains active.
• We reserve the right to adjust credit pricing and number rental costs at any time.

5. In-App Purchases

Apple App Store & Google Play: In-app credit purchases are processed by Apple or Google, respectively. These transactions are subject to the terms and conditions of the respective platform. Ucode does not have access to your payment card information for these transactions.

Stripe (Web Payments): If you purchase credits through the web or Stripe checkout, your payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. in accordance with Stripe's Terms of Service.

All purchases are final unless otherwise stated in Section 6.

6. Refunds & Automatic Credit Returns

• Automatic Credit Refund: If you rent a virtual number and no verification code is received within the designated timeout period, the credits spent on that rental are automatically returned to your balance.
• Successful Verifications: Once a verification code is received and displayed to you, the transaction is considered complete and credits are not refundable.
• Credit Purchases: Purchased credits are generally non-refundable. For purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google in accordance with their refund policies.
• Discretionary Refunds: In exceptional circumstances, we may issue credit refunds at our sole discretion. Contact [email protected] for assistance.

7. Referral Program

Ucode may offer a referral program that allows you to earn credits by inviting new users. The following rules apply:

• Referral rewards (credit amounts, eligibility criteria) are set by us and may change at any time without notice.
• Both the referring user and the referred user may receive credits upon a successful referral, as defined by the current program terms.
• Each user may only apply one referral code. Referral codes cannot be applied retroactively.
• The referral program is subject to a maximum number of referrals per user, as configured by us.

Referral Fraud: The following activities are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and forfeiture of all credits:

• Self-referrals (using your own code on another account you control)
• Creating fake or temporary accounts to exploit referral rewards
• Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to generate referrals
• Sharing referral codes in a deceptive or misleading manner
• Coordinating with others to artificially inflate referral counts

We employ automated fraud detection (device fingerprinting, IP analysis, behavioral patterns) and reserve the right to revoke credits and suspend accounts engaged in referral abuse without prior notice.

8. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use Ucode only for lawful purposes. The Service is designed for legitimate SMS verification needs such as:

• Verifying your own accounts on third-party platforms
• Testing and development purposes
• Protecting your personal phone number from being shared with services

9. Prohibited Activities

You must not use the Service for any of the following:

• Fraud, identity theft, or impersonation
• Sending spam, phishing messages, or unsolicited communications
• Circumventing security measures of any third-party service
• Harassment, threats, or abuse directed at any individual or entity
• Activities that violate any applicable local, national, or international law
• Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or hack any part of the Service
• Automated or bot-driven use of the Service without our written permission
• Reselling access to virtual numbers or verification codes
• Any activity that could damage, disable, or impair the Service

Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination, credit forfeiture, and potential legal action.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, software, and design — are owned by Ucode or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our written consent.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers for authentication (Firebase, Google, Apple), payment processing (Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe), analytics (Firebase Analytics), push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), and SMS number provisioning. Your use of these integrated services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services. Links to third-party websites or services within the app are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• Any specific virtual number will be available at any given time
• Verification codes from third-party services will always be delivered
• The results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, UCODE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ucode and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

15. Termination

• By You: You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting us at [email protected].
• By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Reasons for termination include, but are not limited to, violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or prolonged inactivity.
• Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any remaining credits in your account are forfeited and are non-refundable. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including Sections 10, 12, 13, 14, and 16).

16. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the competent courts of the jurisdiction in which Ucode operates.

17. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by posting a prominent notice on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
